The Lupus Foundation of America Inc. (LFA) is committed to protecting the privacy of its Web site visitors. The LFA does not sell, rent, or exchange personally identifiable information about its Web site visitors, except as noted below. Information We Collect and How We Use It
We collect information about the domain name (.com, .net, .edu, .gov) of a visitor's internet service provider, and the computer and software that you use to access this website. We use this information only for measurement purposes. This information helps us to effectively manage the site and to plan for future improvements. The data we collect only summarizes Web site statistics. Share Your Profile
When you use the “Share Your Profile,” your email address is used to let the recipient know who sent the link to the article. The recipient's email address is not used for any other purpose.
When you make an online donation, we need to know your name, email address, mailing address, credit card number, and expiration date. This data allows us to process and acknowledge your donation. Secure server software encrypts all information you input before it is transmitted.
Processing your donation may require that your information be shared with third party contractors who provide services to us. However, these third party firms are contractually required to keep this information strictly confidential.
Mailing List Exchange
The LFA periodically will exchange its postal mailing list (not email addresses) with other organizations that we deem appropriate for specific, limited and one-time use. We share the names and mailing addresses of our donors with other reputable, qualified and prescreened organizations that share our values and performance standards.
We do not provide information about the amount donated or its purpose. You may request that we not sell, rent or exchange your name and mailing information by sending an email message to email@example.com that includes your full name, mailing address and a request that we not exchange your information with other organizations.
