What do you want others to know about lupus?

You wouldn't know I have lupus by looking at me or talking with me but it is in every decision I make.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

I went from being an avid runner to dreading walking two blocks within a year of my diagnosis. I'm still early in my stages of my own personal understanding of what this disease is for me but it has been very isolating. I'm young but cannot go out with my friends like I used to and there are only so many invites you can turn down before they stop asking. I'm sad and feel many losses but I have faith, that someday it will get better and draw strength from others who are living with lupus and other chronic illnesses.
