What do you want others to know about lupus?

Lupus is the disease where you smile in the outside but inside you can be crying. We have our good & our bad days but we normally look as if nothing's wrong. What has helped me however, is natural medication. I've met many with lupus that say the same thing. There is no two people with lupus who react the same, but the natural meds help all.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

I was diagnosed with RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) before I was diagnosed with Lupus. Eventually I was diagnosed with lupus because I kept getting worse, & ended up in the hospital, but it wasn't until I ended up in the hospital that I was diagnosed. I was in there for quite a while. It's now been about 6 months since I got out of the hospital & I am still trying to get my body and hair back, I lost most of my hair with the steroids & the disease itself. I think that the most important part for me was having the support of my family. At a very young age I've had to mature and now I see life a whole different way. I have learned that life shouldn't be about looks. It should be about health, feeling good inside (emotionally, physically, mentally) loving yourself and Believing in yourself. My health is so important to me, and it's sad that sometimes we have to go through something like this to understand how important our health is. Our bodies are so important, it's what gets us going every day of our lives. That's why it is so important to nourish it and show our respect & love by taking care of ourselves, having a relationship with our body, to understand the needs it has.
