What do you want others to know about lupus?
Most people around my age have experienced the side-effects of a hangover after an ill-advised night of drinking/partying. Nausea, headache, body aches, fatigue, etc... Now try to imagine waking up every day with these symptoms without the need of alcohol or anything else for that matter.
Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?
Being diagnosed in the prime of my youth has had a huge impact on my life. After six months of chemotherapy along with the daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner of prescription medications, one might let this autoimmune disorder take hold of their lives. Luckily I have a wonderful group of family/friends who have helped me see that Living with Lupus doesn't mean letting it define who you are as a person.
