What do you want others to know about lupus?

You're not lazy. It's not your fault you can't get off the couch. You have lupus.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

I've been in remission for 13 years, but I have to take pills every day...pretty much forever. It's just the way it is. I'm fortunate that I have no permanent damage to my organs. The best part: I've learned a great deal about managing stress. The little things don't matter. It's not worth a lupus flare to get ticked off at something relatively unimportant.
