What do you want others to know about lupus?

Lupus is an auto immune disease that to this day there is no cure. And doctors can't even tell you how you got the disease. Yes, its not life threatening and there are ways to control it but you will be a lupus patient for the REST of your life.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

When i first began to have symptoms it didnt really concern me until it began to affect my whole body. I started to have joint pain and it got harder and harder for me to function. I had a hard time getting back and forth from school, i was always tired, I stopped spending time with my friends and began to isolate myself because I didn't know what was going on with me. When I first went to the ER they told me everything was fine and to go home I knew something was wrong and I started to feel like no one was listening to me like I was going crazy. When I finally I found out I had Lupus it had taken almost 3 months of PAIN. I spent 5 days in the hospital hooked to an IV, I had never had to be admitted into the hospital before then because I was perfectly healthy teenager I was worry free. When they finally let me go home I was sent home with a blood pressure machine and 11 pills to take EVERY day. It gets frustrating but I know I can't give up. Yes I have lupus, but lupus don't got me :)
