What do you want others to know about lupus?

So what exactly is “Lupus"?I have been asked this question many times. The answer is not very simple, just like the diagnosis.Experts do not fully understand it,either. It's the MOST difficult disease to diagnose, understand & treat. It may be because lupus is not one disease, but many diseases grouped into one.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

Lupus has affected everything in my life, however,I will NOT allow it to stop me from living my life. I want to enjoy every minute of it! A lot of the time, though, I have muscle weakness, joint pain, overwhelming fatigue and difficulty focusing.I, thank God, for the medicine that I take. It doesn't take away all the symptoms, it just makes them more manageable. Most of the symptoms that I have come without warning and cannot be physically seen by others. In fact, sometimes the people that are closest to me doubt I even have an illness. I sure do wish that was true. Unfortunately, lupus is very real and debilitating despite the way I look.
