What do you want others to know about lupus?

People think just because they can't see that you're suffering and in pain that you're faking it. I am in pain almost every day, some days are worse then others. It's strange that compassion is almost non-existent in this current age. Unless you've walked in someone else's shoes you never really know what they are going through.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

My life has changed drastically. I used to be very active and cheerful. Even though I try to keep a good attitude there are days that I can't smile no matter how hard I try. It's a big adjustment and you have to "mourn" your old life before you can carry on with your new one.
