What do you want others to know about lupus?

I was lucky, I was diagnosed before I had serious complications. My advice - if something feels off to you, pursue it don't let a dr. blow it off. Keep trying until you find a reason for your symptoms. I am under control with Plaquenil. But I also have a very healthy lifestyle and I think that is a major factor in my wellness. Eat healthy and exercise.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

Lupus has made me more aware of the connection between what I do and think and my health. Stay positive, food is medicine so eat well - mainly vegetables, avoid sugar and unhealthy fats, follow Dr. Weil's antiinflammatory diet, exercise and meditate every day. You can contribute to your wellness, don't be a victim take charge of your health.
