What do you want others to know about lupus?

Lupus has many faces and no one who suffers with it have all of the same symptoms because lupus mimicks so many other illnesses. Lupus symptoms can make life so hard sometimes and the illness causes one to have to change their whole life style to meet the needs of this unpredictable illness. Just think the body attacking itself it's a scary feeling.

Why is lupus a cruel mystery to you?

Lupus is a part if my life I cannot ignore but I refuse to allow it to own my body. I have had to reconstruct my life and life style because their are just some things i cannot do anymore. Example: I used to be very active and on the go with my friends and family but with the chronic fatigue i have had to make more time to rest than do anything else. This is very annoying for me because I'm used to being out and about and doing for myself. Now I have to have help with house cleaning, errands and sometimes decision making. I also have to write down every thing because the lupus fog is often unbearable I don't remember the simple things I'm very forgetful. Sometimes i feel that i'm not competent but I know that's a lie and that GOD has plans for my life. I have a 12 year old son and 22 yr old daughter who needs me and I refuse to give up I must fight even when sick. I been out of work for a year now due to a serious flare up and as stressful as my job is I doubt I'll be returning because my body isn't ready and cannot handle the stress. I love helping people feel better about themselves even when I don't because knowing I can put a smile on someone face makes me smile. I will advocate, volunteer and do what ever I need to do to spread the word about lupus and how it changes lives but don't stop them.
